The online in-service training program at the University of South Florida has been developed to benefit an array of behavioral health professionals including those in leadership positions, clinical staff, case managers and supervisors, direct health care staff, as well as families and advocates.
Online Learning in Children's Mental Health provides access to current knowledge and practical skills needed to work in systems serving the mental health needs of children, youth, and their families. Courses are taught by national experts in children's mental health and related fields.

Online Learning in Children's Mental Health is a program of the Department of Child and Family Studies (CFS), College of Behavioral & Community Sciences at the University of South Florida. The development of this program has been supported through CFS, the Research and Training Center for Children's Mental Health, and the Child, Adolescent, and Family Branch of the Center for Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
The core curriculum for Online Learning in Children's Mental Health includes 32 courses that allow students to work independently and at their own pace. The core curriculum covers topics such as Building Effective Systems of Care, Creating Effective Child and Family Teams, and Reducing Mental Health Disparities. Additional courses will be added to the curriculum and updates will be made often.
Although there are no educational requirements or prerequisites for taking these courses, the coursework is designed to meet a range of educational needs and abilities. While a student can select any course, unit descriptions offer some suggestion as to "user tracks" based on the student's role as

Free access by the public to courses designed to increase awareness of children's mental health, the impact on the community and current research and practice!
Offers a range of courses that introduce the principles of applied behavior analysis to practitioners and family members and further training needs for existing behavior analysts and students of behavior analysis.
Includes principles, practices and a framework for the implementation of trauma-informed care within family care environments, treatment settings and child-serving systems. The series includes assessment tools, a downloadable curriculum, and video and narrated slideshow presentations to offer the most up-to-date strategies to reduce trauma symptoms in children.
